Victoria Park, the park you see on your way to the George Best City Airport, was the starting venue for this ramble.

We were joined by Sean Brannigan from the Connswater Community Greenway Project, and he provided information on the history and future plans for Victoria Park and surrounding area as we walked around the perimeter of the park’s lake.

When we left the park we followed the Connswater River up as far as the Holywood  Arches where we were treated to a lovely lunch in the Espresso East Cafe (thanks Pat)

Sadly when we left Espresso East the rain had started so our route along some of Van Morrison’s old haunts was a bit of a damp one.  His song “Bright Side of the Street” rang a little hollow that afternoon!  J  Still, we made it up to Orangefield Park before the rain began playing havoc with a couple of the scooters and some of the young people who had come along gave a helping hand and we all made it safely back to Victoria Park by which time the rain had, of course completely dried up!

Rain or no rain.. the day was enjoyed by everyone!

Thanks Sean, Pat and our young volunteer pushers!
